PulseTrack
The Challenge
A wellness startup had data, sensors, and ambition — but no product. Every existing fitness app felt like a chore. They needed something users would reach for first thing in the morning, not something they'd delete after two weeks.
Our Solution
We designed PulseTrack around a single feeling: momentum. Real-time biometrics, soft haptics, and a streak system that rewards consistency over intensity. Native iOS and Android with HealthKit + Google Fit fusion. Daily active retention beat industry benchmarks by 3x.
What We Built
Key Features
Real-Time Biometrics
Live heart rate, HRV, and sleep stage data pulled from Apple Watch and Wear OS devices with sub-second latency.
Streak Engine
A proprietary consistency scoring system that rewards showing up over hitting targets — reducing anxiety-driven churn.
Haptic Coaching
Subtle wrist taps guide breathing exercises and workout pacing without ever pulling the user out of flow state.
HealthKit + Google Fit Fusion
Unified health data layer that normalises metrics across both ecosystems into a single timeline.
Offline-First Architecture
All core features work without connectivity. Data syncs silently when the connection returns.
Smart Notifications
ML-driven nudges sent at the exact moment each user is most likely to engage — not on a fixed schedule.

How We Did It
Our Process
Discovery & Research
2 weeksTwo weeks of user interviews with 40 fitness app churners. We mapped every friction point that caused people to quit.
Design Sprint
1 weekFive-day sprint producing 3 competing interaction models. The streak mechanic emerged from day 3 testing.
Core Build
6 weeksNative modules for HealthKit and Google Fit, Reanimated 3 gesture system, and the offline-first data layer.
Beta & Iteration
3 weeksClosed beta with 500 users. Iterated on notification timing and streak recovery mechanics based on real usage.
Launch & Optimisation
2 weeksApp Store submission, ASO, and post-launch performance monitoring. Crash rate held below 0.1%.
Ventrox Tech didn't just build what we asked for — they challenged our assumptions and delivered something our users genuinely love. The streak mechanic was their idea, and it's the reason we got funded.
